Here are few pictures from a another recent playtest – this time for Set II of the Technology Cards. The battle was set somewhere in southern West Germany in the summer of 1982. With the UK distracted by the Falklands War, the Warsaw Pact decided to try and seize a little more industrialized territory for itself.

The battle was fought using 6mm Micro Armor (some of which was actually purchased in 1982…). Enjoy!

We just posted a pair of nifty aids for keeping track of your Combat Cards and Fantasy Cards units during a battle. They are called Unit Summary Cards and are located in the Beta Testing area of the Free Downloads section:

Combat Cards Unit Summaries

Fantasy Cards Unit Summaries

Each file is a full page of nine Unit Summary Cards, with each card having space to record the name of the unit and any identifiers (e.g. numbers, colored tags, etc.) the unit type, a half-dozen additional details (from expansion sets) as well as a spot to mark the unit’s final adjusted point value.

The best part is the PDF is laid out with fields that you can just key in the information and print it out all nice and neat!

For those not quite sure how to utilize the Summary Cards, there is also a sample sheet with some example Unit Summaries filled in located the same part of the Free Downloads section:

Sample Unit Summaries

We have been using the Summary Cards for all of our units around here lately and really have come to like them – hopefully you will too! Give them a try, and let us know what you think…

We are making a small change to the website that will give us the opportunity to broaden our creative horizons a bit, and in the process hopefully give folks lots of clever ideas for new and innovative ways to utilize our games.

As you will notice the old Army of the Week section on the left side of the site has now been changed to the Idea of the Week. Subjects for the section will be expanded to include things like creative uses for the cards & expansions, detailed breakdowns of unique units, interesting scenario ideas, and so on – though the occasional army list and tactics discussion will still be thrown in as well. (We haven’t forgotten about you fans of the army lists!).

So kick back and enjoy this week’s Idea, and be sure to check back regularly for new and inspiring tidbits…
