Overview

The Tactical Assault: Fantasy Cards™ are a new and innovative way to approach your fantasy themed miniature gaming. The Fantasy Cards are designed to bring all the detailed elements of fantasy land warfare – including the fog of war – to the tabletop in a narrative card-driven format that is easy to play yet full of challenges. To be successful, you must be creative in your strategies, flexible in your tactics and attentive to the ever changing battlefield.

The Fantasy Cards can be utilized for just about any fantasy or pre-gunpowder historical setting, for any scale of miniatures, any sized battlefield and for any size of battle – ranging from the smallest skirmish action all the way up to massive army sized endeavors.

Information… Bigger Tokens

Wednesday, December 26th, 2012

We have received a lot of positive feedback from folks about our new snazzier token designs, however the rather small size of each token and the fiddly nature of using them on the battlefield have apparently been causing folks a few issues (it appears that there have been more than a few instances of status tokens being lost in the terrain and players not realizing it…).

So, in response, we have just posted a new set of larger tokens in the Free Downloads page for both the Combat Cards and the Fantasy Cards. The tokens are identical to their smaller cousins, except bigger (about an inch across now). This should help make it easier to keep track of them on the battlefield without making them too visually obtrusive or aesthetically annoying.

You can find the new token sheets by following these links:

If the new size is popular enough, we may even consider switching all of our token sets to the same format. So check them out, and let us know what you think!

It Is Official…

We have amended the wording in the core rules for both Combat Cards and the Fantasy Cards to allow players to both play and discard cards in the same turn (see the new Playing & Discarding Golden Rule). The result is now a faster game with even more difficult tactical choices and options!

We would like to thank everybody who shared their thoughts on the change and its impact – we really do appreciate hearing from the folks who play the games!

The intent of the rule is to prohibit units from having Actions or Situations played on them if they cannot utilize the Action or Situation or, more specifically, any part of the Action or Situation. (more…)
